Medical Education Learning Specialist

● Design and develop individual and group academic support services  to help students develop more efficient and effective strategies and to improve their exam performance.

● Give presentations and facilitate workshops for audiences ranging in size from 3 to 1200.

● Be informed of and skilled in research and techniques relating to improving time management; focus; memorizing; long-term memory; integration of content; test preparation; multiple-choice test-taking for university and national standardized exams, such as the USMLE (United States Medical Licensing Examination); learning assessments and applications; information processing and selecting the main idea.

Advising 

• • • For several years, I served as an advisor for undergraduate cohorts of students in the premedical groups and students in their first term of medical school.

    • Maintain direct contact with premedical and medical students to continuously develop action plans for academic success

    • Created monthly activities for academic advising sessions

Graduate Teaching

• Design and deliver face-to-face, blended and asynchronous learning materials for EDUC823: Technology in Education; EDUC817: Curriculum & Pedagogy; EDUC819: Leadership Theory and Practice; EDUC817: Curriculum & Technology

• Assist in the development of a graduate level blended degree program as part of Master’s of Education Planning Committee 

Undergraduate Teaching

• Design and deliver face-to-face, blended and asynchronous learning materials for PCLN301: Learning Strategies for the Pre-Professional Courses; SSP COMM: Study Skills and Professional Communications

Faculty Development

• Develop and deliver workshops and individual sessions for faculty on teaching strategies, tools, course design with universal design and constructive alignment
